The Bar
A neighborhood bar with a speakeasy feel – tucked between the river and Rembrandtplein.
The Mill is for people who like their bars a little darker, their music a little better, and their drinks made properly. During the day it’s calm and unhurried, good for coffee, laptops and quiet conversations.
As the evening rolls in, the lights dim, the records come out and the bar shifts into night mode. Expect classic serves, Dutch spirits, a rotating cast of beers and the occasional off-menu favourite if you ask nicely.
Whether you’re dropping in for a quick drink before a show, settling in with friends for the night or discovering us by accident while wandering along the Amstel — you’re welcome to just walk in.
What we pour
Tank beer
Fresh lager from the tanks, served in classic Dutch vaasjes and half-litres.
Jenever & Dutch spirits
A nod to old Amsterdam, with jenever and local distillers behind the bar.
Cocktails
Negronis, martinis and stirred-down classics, plus a few house favourites.
Coffee & low / no
Proper espresso, simple softs and alcohol-free options if you’re keeping it light.
Nights at The Mill
A mix of vinyl, DJs and easy-going nights. Nothing too formal, always about the room feeling good.
Fridays & Saturdays
Busier energy, deeper playlists and occasional DJs or vinyl selections. The focus is on atmosphere rather than big-club volume – a place to actually enjoy being out.
Live & Special Nights
Live music Mondays, listening sessions, collaborations and small takeovers with friends of the bar. Keep an eye on our socials or just ask at the bar what’s coming up.
Venue Hire
For when one table isn’t enough. Keep the character of a bar, with room for your group.
Most nights, The Mill is open as a regular bar and you’re welcome to just drop in. For larger groups, we can reserve an area, or – at certain times – let you take over the whole place.
We host company drinks, wrap parties, small launches, birthdays and informal gatherings. The room keeps the feel of a bar, rather than a closed-off function space.
